Alfajiri's Cliff Villa overlooks uninterrupted azure waters off the Kenyan coast. An oasis of calm, the luxury villa is spectacular to behold; spacious and airy with a raised thatched roof providing shade across an inviting veranda that leads out to a swimming pool right on the beach, where you’re just steps from the Indian Ocean.

The villa interiors are rustic-chic with serious African style; white-washed walls are dappled with atmospheric lighting and adorned with local handicrafts. Whilst décor is simple, the furnishings have been hand-selected to create the most stylish beach retreat imaginable - picture beautifully hand-carved wooden furniture, specially curated book shelves, Moroccan lamps, Indian rugs and cushions and East African art and ornaments. In keeping with the beach vibe, flowing curtains and soft materials connect the interior with the exterior of the villa, and the veranda is decked out with comfortable sofas and outdoor dining space, making it the perfect spot to lounge in the shade, gazing out to the horizon or reading a good book.

Four bedrooms boast hand-carved 4-poster beds, dressed with sumptuous white linens. The Turret Suite is our favourite and the most romantic in feel, with a private balcony taking in 270’ ocean views. Alfajiri is all about privacy, surrounded by foliage and palm trees, you'll feel transported a world away from civilisation and the tranquility of the setting is what makes it so relaxing.

Your private chef will create a delicious menu for you each day, bringing together locally caught seafood, fresh greens, salads and herbs from the Alfajiri gardens, and complementing each dish with fine South African wines. We can arrange for a masseuse to come to the villa, as well as a private driver should you be interested in exploring the local area.

Set on Diani Beach, there are a number of beach bars, restaurants and clubs nearby. Diani is known as one of Kenya’s most beautiful beaches with miles of sands allowing for leisurely barefoot walks under the equatorial sun. There are first-class watersports facilities close by, where we can organise scuba diving, kite surfing and superb deep-sea fishing. An amazing experience that we highly recommend is taking a traditional Dhow boat out to explore a nearby marine reserve, and then enjoying reef snorkelling off the boat, followed by a delicious picnic lunch and siesta. Golf can also be easily arranged at the 18-hole course close-by.

Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
