Be Tulum is a luxury eco-resort immersed in the jungle on the edge of a soft white-sand beach, located in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula in Quintana Roo. The setting is beautiful and romantic, offering stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and magical sunsets. Whilst the style of Be Tulum is rustic and low-key, the level of service and comfort is that of a high-end luxury hotel.
To experience the Be Tulum lifestyle is wonderfully restorative. It requires minimal effort – shoes are strewn to one side for a barefoot existence, a gentle pace is fallen into as you explore tranquil natural surroundings, and disconnecting from a more frenetic environment allows you to reconnect with yourself and find a true sense of peace.
Wellness is a major part of everyday life in Tulum, and everywhere you visit you will notice that great importance is placed on nurturing both the mind and the body, and living a balanced, healthy lifestyle is encouraged and celebrated.
At Be Tulum’s Yaan Wellness Spa you can choose from a menu of specialist wellness experiences, including pre-hispanic indigenous treatments, such as herbal bath rituals, cleansing programs, and Temazcal ceremonies held by a Mayan healer, all of which are tailored to your personal needs. Many of the ingredients used in the treatments are taken from the spa’s rooftop herb garden, where they grow a number of medicinal plans that were used in traditional Mayan healing treatments.
You can also enjoy yoga and meditation classes at the tree top studio above the jungle canopy – it’s the most peaceful setting with inspiring views.
Mexico is renowned for its cuisine and on the offering on the Caribbean coast is spectacular. Maresias Restaurant is Be Tulum’s ‘raw bar’, where gorgeous hand-carved wooden tables are set up on the sand in the shade, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, inviting you in for a leisurely lunch or dinner of exquisite fresh cuisine - oysters, ceviche, salads, carpaccio etc.
Fuegos is Be Tulum’s secret weapon, a fantastic restaurant where you can watch chefs at work as they slow-cook fresh produce, including freshly caught fish, over a wood-burning grill. Whole grilled lobster is a particular local favourite.
Guests sleep in stunning Design Rooms and luxury suites that have been built using native materials to blend into the jungle setting, each providing plenty of space, real comfort and a private oasis to relax in.
The rooms are contemporary with rustic charm and authenticity, enhanced by modern comforts such as AC and wifi speakers. Each is exquisitely decorated with earth-tones, hand-carved wooden furniture, intricately woven carpets, soft curtains to keep the rooms cool, premium cotton linens, hammocks and gentle lighting.
Jungle Suites are set in the gardens amidst tropical plants and palm trees, Arena Suites are steps from the sand with private plunge pools or indoor copper bathtubs, spacious Ocean Suites have private balconies and access to a rooftop solarium with a pool, Tierra or Fuego Suites have access to a private garden and plunge pool, and Aire Suites have access to a private roof terrace with pool.
There are 7 spectacular villas, either oceanfront or jungle view, which sleep up to 10 guests and include private pools, rooftop terraces, personal concierge, and private chef service on request.
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
