Las Alcobas, A Luxury Collection Hotel, is a 5-star luxury boutique hotel located in Mexico City’s beautiful Polanco district.
Polanco is a chic setting for exploring the city, with tree-lined avenues, designer boutique shops and sophisticated restaurants, as well as some charming surrounding neighbourhoods, including Reforma, Condesa and Roma, where you can peruse local craft and food markets and visit some fascinating museums and galleries. During your stay, the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Anthropology are must-visits.
Las Alcobas, formerly a private residence, has been beautifully converted into a luxury hotel with 35 guest rooms. From the moment you arrive, the experience is of the utmost luxury, with personalised butler service, warm hospitality, and a fantastic concierge – all the staff here go the extra mile to ensure a stay surpasses your expectations.
Las Alcobas, meaning alcoves in Spanish, has many private alcoves; quiet and intimate spaces for a private home-from-home ambience. The décor is very soft, with earth tones and natural woods. Guests stay in Deluxe/Executive Guest Rooms, 2/3-bedroom Suites, or can take out the penthouse with a wraparound terrace enjoying sprawling city views.
Each spacious room features a separate sitting area, and is designed with bespoke Rosewood furniture, goose-down bedding, the finest Italian linens by Rivolta Carmigiani, all-marble bathrooms with rain showers and jacuzzi baths, and unique works of art, all enhanced by state-of-the-art amenities and technology. Depending on the room type, guests will enjoy views overlooking a private courtyard, or if staying in the panoramic Corner Room, gorgeous view across Masaryk Avenue and Anatole France Street. I love the outdoor terrace of the Junior Suite, or for extra space, Las Alcobas Suite includes a dining room that seats six guests.
There are two dining experiences to choose from at Las Alcobas, as well as a number of wonderful restaurants close to the hotel, where we can make reservations for you. Anatol integrates international gourmet cuisine with locally inspired dishes, focussed on farm-to-table ingredients – small plates are served in a casual, fun setting. Dulce Patria, by Chef Marta Ortiz, is an upscale dining experience set in a stylish, bustling restaurant with two spacious terraces. Dulce Patria is a celebration of traditional Mexican cuisine, using only the freshest ingredients and promising a highly polished service.
Why not begin with a restorative spa treatment at Las Alcobas, so as to get over any jet lag and feel energised as you head out to explore Mexico City? The Aurora Spa is a tranquil urban escape, offering personalised treatments such as massages, scrubs and facials, all with natural indigenous ingredients, enjoyed either in the spa or in your room should you prefer.
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
