Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America with over 200 marked runs across side-by-side mountains. I highly recommend staying in Whistler’s pedestrianised Upper Village in the stunning Four Seasons Resort and Residences to make the most of a winter adventure in a spectacular mountain setting.
Experience spectacular service, as to be expected from the Four Seasons, made even better by warm Canadian hospitality. The ambience here is intimate and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing ski holiday.
Guests sleep in spacious rooms, suites or private residences, fitted with fireplaces and furnished balconies that enjoy incredible mountain views. The interiors are chic, sophisticated and contemporary, with soft colour tones and natural materials, including lots of stone and dark wood furnishings. There are a range of interconnecting room options for families, as well as private residences.
The Townhouse sleeps 8 in King beds, with ensuite slate bathrooms, and a private balcony and whirlpool. Additional amenities include 24/7 in-room dining, use of a complimentary house car, ski concierge, daily complimentary wine reception, hot chocolate and cookies, s’mores by the fire, and we can arrange a private chef service.
The mountains offer endless activities in winter, such as skiing and snowboarding, dog-sledding through the pristine back-country and forest trails, snow-mobiling, amazing cross-country skiing, Ice-fishing, exporing a labyrinth of ice caves, heli-skiing, horse-drawn sleigh-rides and ice-skating.
Post-skiing wellness experiences are absolute heaven in the Spa, which offers an array of treatments, including incredible massages, fitness classes, a heated outdoor pool and three whirlpools. In-room treatments can also easily be arranged.
Whistler Blackcomb is a stunning destination year-round, particularly for those who enjoy hiking and biking. The mountains can be explored on beautiful trails that take you through ancient cedar forests and past spectacular waterfalls. Spend a day exploring the lakes, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and picnicking amidst stunning natural surroundings.
In the summer months we can arrange a variety of excursions, including zip-lining, helicopter and jeep off-roading tours, golfing, white water rafting, fishing, and spotting bears in their natural habitat with a guide.
The Sidecut Modern Steak Restaurant and Bar is currently under renovation and is due to reopen in December 2020 – watch this space!
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
