Silversands is a beautiful luxury resort set on the stunning white-sand Grand Anse Beach in Grenada, one of my favourite Caribbean islands. It's a peaceful, sophisticated hideaway with serene ocean views and is absolute heaven for a romantic island escape.
Silversands has been created with the utmost respect for its natural setting and the authenticity of the island, whilst providing a modern and luxurious beach retreat. The resort is a haven of calm, nestled amongst tropical flowers and towering palm trees, and boasts the longest pool in the Caribbean - an infinity pool that appears to stretch into the ocean so it feels like you have endless blue ahead of you.
Grenada offers an intimate Caribbean experience, with untouched nature, a pristine underwater world and rich history and culture to discover. Guests staying on the island receive the kindest, warmest welcome from locals and will easily slip into the laid-back lifestyle. Known as ‘The Spice Island’, Grenada is the world’s biggest exporter of nutmeg, so it’s fascinating to visit the local markets to sample a variety of spices and tropical fruits. It's also well worth taking a break from the beach to visit a rum distillery and learn about the history of Fort George.
Some of Grenada's finest assets are its miles of powdery beaches to enjoy. We can arrange privately guided watersports, and we can also make recommendations for trying out local restaurants and tasting delicious creole cuisine. The Silversands Beach Club with resident DJ has a wonderful atmosphere and is a great place for socialising or relaxing with a cocktail. Silversands Spa is also incredibly popoular and offers an extensive menu of treatments including full body massages, as well as a sauna, ice cave and hammam.
Guests stay in spacious rooms and suites, decorated with natural wood and stone furnishings, original artwork, King-sized beds, deep soaking tubs and rain showers, each with a private dining space and terraces or balconies for making the most of the views.
For families, the four-bedroom beachfront or hillside villas offer privacy, ample space and their own swimming pools and kitchens. Floor to ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light and draw the gaze to the outdoors and the serenity of the ocean. Each room is fitted with a modern sound system, espresso machine, electronically controlled mosquito nets and luxury amenities.
The food at Silversands really is spectacular, whether you're feeling like a casual poolside lunch of freshly caught fish or a formal dinner at Asiatique, celebrated for its Asian cuisine influenced by Grenadian spices and local ingredients.
The Grenadian Grill perfectly cooks traditional dishes and locally caught seafood to be enjoyed with an ocean view. After sundown, relax in the rum and cigar lounge, Puro, where you're spoilt for choice with rums from the finest distilleries in the world.
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
