Part of the esteemed Dorchester Collection, a huge refurbishment project closed the Hotel Plaza Athenee for 11 months in 2014, transforming it into one of the most glamorous and luxurious addresses in Paris. Originally opened in 1913, the Athenee has an incredible history and over the years has provided a sophisticated Parisian pied-a-terre for a fashionable set of household names, including Christian Dior. I could wager that Plaza Athenee’s rooms are the most comfortable in the city, and with balconies opening out to jaw-dropping, close-up views of the Tour Eiffel, tree-lined Avenue de Montaigne and flower-filled inner courtyards, Hotel Plaza Athenee is the perfect romantic escape for a weekend away in the city of love.Read more
First opened by Cesar Ritz in 1898, The Ritz, Paris underwent a 4-year refurbishment, completed in 2016. This was an essential project to transport The Ritz into the modern age, and it proved a great success with refreshed facilities surpassing the expectations of a modern luxury hotel, whilst not detracting from the glamour, history and traditional luxury that The Ritz has so long be known for. The Ritz remains one of the most fabulous and sophisticated hotel experiences to be enjoyed in Paris, upholding its worldwide reputation for top quality service and comfort with a high staff-to-guest ratio. From my personal experiences of staying at The Ritz, I would recommend it for a very special occasion city break, particularly for food lovers or those that go weak at the knees for old-school glamour and luxury. It is without doubt one of my favourite places to stay in Paris, only 500 yards from the beautiful Tuileries gardens, and completely unforgettable.Read more
