New York

New York needs little introduction; it's skyline a veritable work of art, its legacy of turning dreamers into stars - world renowned, and its people… well, their steely reputation doesn't do them justice - everyone is welcome in New York City. I love walking down Manhattan's endless avenues, brimming with life, wondering what's in store from block to block. Of course, putting time aside to admire NYC's most famous sights and architectural beauties such as the Empire State building and Lady Liberty, the outstanding Museum of Modern Art and the eye-widening shops of Fifth Avenue, is a must. It's just as fabulous as the movies allude. But there is SO much more to New York. Exploring each district with its distinct personality, you'll discover wonderful gems from family run diners to hidden art studios and gorgeous boutiques where you'd least expect them. Through years of visiting Manhattan, and always keeping my ear to the ground on the city's hottest trends, I have a personal guide book of experiences that will make your city break both exciting and unique in equal measure.

The Plaza Athenée

The Plaza Athenée first opened its doors in 1984, and today it still feels like a chic European townhouse; a luxurious and low-key hideaway in the heart of New York. Its brilliant setting, close to Central Park and a short stroll from some of the finest luxury stores in Manhattan such as Bergdorf Goodman, Barney's and Henri Bendel, as well as The Frick, MOMA and Rockefeller Center, makes it one of the most sought after locations in the city. This is one of my favourite New York hotels for its central location, quiet rooms and seamless service.

The Carlyle

The Carlyle has a true place in New York's history and a firm following of repeat guests, which is testament to its distinguished reputation. Set in a Beaux Art building between Park and Madison Avenue, the hotel is surrounded by fabulous boutiques such as Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Prada and Lilly Pulitzer, and close to a host of top eateries and upscale galleries like Gagosian and Arader. There's no question that this is the grandest place to stay in New York City, having housed Royalty, heads of state and celebrities aplenty. And, as to be expected from a Rosewood Hotel, it is run with slick confidence and exceptional service, offering a glamorous sojourn for those looking to travel in style.
