Experience the beauty of historic Paris from the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal. For me, the views from the Grand Hotel are its most breathtaking feature, overlooking the stunning Royal gardens and iconic Paris skyline, with the Louvre next door. The hotel is set within a striking 18th Century building, comprised of 68 rooms, each of which provides a private space for guests to enjoy independence and fantastic service in equal measure.
The Grand Hotel’s interiors, facilities, restaurant and service are the epitome of understated luxury and guests will want for nothing during their stay. Interior design by Pierre-Yves Rochon is warm, elegant and flower-filled, with many of the charming bedrooms boasting balconies and gorgeous marble bathrooms with double vanities and deep tubs. The Grand Palais’ most spectacular space is, in my opinion, Le Lulli fine-dining restaurant, inspired by the surrounding gardens, bringing light, colour and nature indoors. Dine here for contemporary French cuisine a la carte from Executive Chef Jean-Baptiste Orieux.
I would particularly recommend the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal for families, as it is more affordable option than a number of Parisian hotels offering a similar level of service and comfort. There are also a variety of interconnecting room options, and the concierge is particularly willing and creative when it comes to experiences and excursions that suit every age.
Don’t miss pre-dinner drinks at the cocktail bar, where you can choose from a selection of over 30 Champagne labels. The Carita spa is also divine, but be sure to book your treatment in advance as it is small with just two treatment rooms and a Hammam.
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
