Take a look at our tried-and-tested winter travel essentials. We have chosen a selection from the hottest brands in travel for comfort, practicality and style. These also make perfect gifts for anyone headed off on a winter escape!
AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES: Having a small bag in my hand luggage with a selection of essential oils, eye-mask and hydrating creams from Aromatherapy Associates is what keeps me relaxed and calm when I travel long haul. Rubbing lavender oil into my wrists and neck helps me fall to sleep straight away on a long, noisy flight, and rose-water hand-cream keeps my skin hydrated, which is so important in an environment of recycled air! The wonderful Aromatherapy Associates team can put together the perfect selection of products for you, but I'd highly recommend including Rosemary Oil for circulation if you're travelling long-haul. The bottles are the perfect size to go through security, and their see-through travel bags hold all the items you need whilst allowing you to see exactly what's inside. TAKE ME THERE >
BROOKSTONE: Brookstone is one of my favourite companies for travel gear with a focus on comfort. Brookstone’s blackout sleep masks are soft, padded and contoured to fit the face comfortably without applying unnecessary pressure. Brookstone also do amazing travel duvets, which are particularly great for children and you can buy them in all US airports. The sleep-tight weighted blankets are perfect for keeping the little ones cosy on the plane. TAKE ME THERE >
OBAGI: – Obagi offers a range of products to provide daily protection from the damaging effects of sun exposure. Whatever your skin type or need, an Obagi physician will discuss your personal situation and design a skin care regimen specifically for you. Skin care, particularly when travelling, is of the utmost importance and Obagi is a trustworthy brand that focuses on preserving skin health. Sun Shield Tint (SPF50) travels with me everywhere as a daily moisturiser. TAKE ME THERE >
DIPTYQUE: Philosykos roll-on perfume evokes visions of Greek hills sewn with fig-groves, sweeping down to clear waters shimmering in the Mediterranean sun. Philosykos perfume oil’s enchanting scent comes from its raw materials of fig leaves, fig tree sap and fig tree wood. It is designed to be compact and travel-friendly, offering a higher concentration similar to an eau de parfum – perfect for travelling light. TAKE ME THERE >
ROCK & RUDDLE: Hairbrushes are of course a daily essential and I have to share my favourite brand with you. Rock & Ruddle design natural bristle hair brushes which are so much better for your hair, leaving it healthier and shinier. The designs are fabulous and colourful – my personal favourites are from the ‘Out of Africa’ collection, but you can also personalise them, so they make fantastic gifts. I have a large Rock & Ruddle brush at home, then a small travel-sized brush for my handbag / carry-on whenever I’m on the move. TAKE ME THERE >
GLOSSIER: You can choose three colours of your own choice from Glossier’s Lip Balm Trio - my personal favourite is rose balm. These are a winter essential and great for popping in a small pocket on a ski holiday. TAKE ME THERE>
DALE OF NORWAY: Dale Hats from Norway are perfect to take skiing or on any winter holiday. I have a small collection of these warm, Norwegian, merino wool hats with Nordic patterns which are always admired. TAKE ME THERE >
MINNETONKA: I always pack my Concho Feather Boots for a skiing trip. Whether you are in a hotel or private chalet, shoes are a no no, so it is always nice to have a pair of slippers that don’t weigh too much in your suitcase. I love these for slipping into after a day on the slopes - they're warm, cosy and a really fun design! TAKE ME THERE >
RAY BAN: Now that we all wear helmets, fold-away Ray-Ban sunglasses are a must for skiing. They fit into a small pocket to wear for outdoor lunches, when it is still really important to protect your eyes. Great for any holiday, they come in Wayfarer and Lennon style round ones, and you can customise your lenses. TAKE ME THERE >
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
